Yellow Alert Tuesday for PM storms

We have issued a Yellow Alert Tuesday for afternoon and evening showers and T-storms. Tuesday will feel more like summer with high temperatures near ninety in many spots. While we do not anticipate any severe weather Tuesday some of the storms will produce heavy downpours reducing visibility. FORECAST

Appeals court in Va. to hear gay marriage case

People on both sides of the gay marriage debate are gathering for a hearing in Richmond Tuesday. A landmark case will go before a federal judge after a U.S. District court struck down Virginia's ban on same-sex marriage back in February. Both sides expect the issue to ultimately be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. MORE

Wizards gear up for Game Five against Pacers

It's win or go fishing tonight for the Wizards. They'll try to avoid being eliminated from the playoffs Tuesday as they take on the Pacers in Indianapolis. For Wizards fans in D.C., the team is hosting a Game 5 viewing party at Verizon Center. Wizards fell to the Pacers in Game 4 of the series 92-95 on Sunday. RECAP

150 years since first burial at Arlington National Cemetery

Arlington National Cemetery will hold a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of Union Army Pvt. William Henry Christman, who became the first person to be buried there on May 13, 1864 — 150 years ago Tuesday. The U.S. government purchased the property after the family of Confederate General Robert E. Lee lost the land in a property tax dispute. MORE

Group robs, sexually assaults woman in Adams Morgan

D.C. police say an adult female was robbed and sexually assaulted by a group of four males and two females in Adams Morgan on Sunday. The group dragged the victim into a nearby alley where they robbed her of her personal property. Two of the males then sexually assaulted her before fleeing, police say. MORE
