WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police say a 23-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday in Northeast Washington.
It happened in the 1200 block of Simms Place around 5:23 a.m., when police say they were called for a subject shot in the alley.
Upon arrival, police located an adult male unconscious and unresponsive. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police identified the victim Monday morning as 23-year-old DaShawn Hammonds of Southeast Washington.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
