Police: both drivers under the influence in Va. crash

CHANTILLY, Va. (WUSA9) -- After an investigation into a crash on Wednesday, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office authorities say deputies discovered both drivers involved in the collision were driving under the influence.

Officials say deputies in the area of Tall Cedars Parkway and Loudoun County Parkway in Chantilly at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, heard the sound of a loud crash. They then spotted a vehicle traveling north on Loudoun County Parkway with front -end damage. Officials say they stopped the car and a lookout was issued for a second vehicle.

The driver of the first car, 41-year-old Karin J. Keswani of Aldie, was charged with DUI, say officials. they tell us it was his second DUI in five years.

Deputies later found the second vehicle and its driver in the area, according to officials. Thirty-four-year-old Michael R. Johnson of Stone Ridge was charged with DUI and hit and run. It was also his second DUI in five years, say officials.

Officials tell us that Keswani was released on a personal recognizance bond and Johnson was released on a $3,000 bond.
