Man in custody, woman on the loose after Fairfax Co. shooting & chase

CENTREVILLE, VA (WUSA9) - A man is in custody and a woman is on the loose after a shooting, police chase, and subsequent bailout in Fairfax County late Tuesday night.

Fairfax County Police officials say the chain of events started when they received calls from residents reporting the sound of gunshots in the 13000 block of Big Yankee Lane in Centreville. Police responded to the scene and found a car and house had been struck by gunfire. No one was injured in the shooting.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene, but was spotted a short time later by an officer who attempted a traffic stop.  The suspects ran again, leading police in an approximately four-mile chase that ended in a bailout in the 5000 block of Hazel Ferguson Dr. in Fairfax.  Officers quickly apprehended a male suspect, however a female suspect got away.

Officers canvassed the area for the woman, however she remains at-large.  She is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 - 30 years old, short, with a thin build.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspect's whereabouts should contact Fairfax County Police.
