WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Washington Nationals right-fielder Bryce Harper is no stranger to criticism from fans, he’s been a star since he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated at the age of 16.
Those players that oppose him respect him, opposing fans can’t stand him. But Harper did something Monday night, in Game 3 of the National League Division Series, to endear himself to many fans around the league.
Harper caught an inning ending fly-ball, turned to the fans behind him and faked like he was going to throw the ball into the stands to them. However, he did an about face and began running back to the dugout.
Those fans couldn’t be mad for long, because Harper ran up to the wall along the first base line and handed the baseball to an adorable little fan, in a pink and white Dodgers hat, who then turned around with a big smile.
