Body of missing swimmer found in Md. reservoir ID'd

MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WUSA9) -- Officials found the body of a missing swimmer Friday in the Triadelphia Reservoir about 65 feet from the shore and at 25 depth of water.

Authorities said Friday the 19-year-old male went under the water and did not come back up. Police said investigation shows that he had been swimming in the water with a group of friends on Wednesday.

The victim started to struggle in the water and went under. His friends then called the police for help, authorities said.

Authorities found the body of the 19-year-old Friday at 2:33 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Avery Troix Williams, 19, of Germantown.

The search resumed in the area of Greenbridge Recreation between 8 and 10 Thursday morning for the 19-year-old swimmer.
