Body found under drawbridge in Md. creek

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9/AP) - Police are trying to identify a body that was found in the water underneath the Weems Creek Bridge in Annapolis.

Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thomson says the body was recovered around noon Sunday after a passer-by reported spotting it in the water.

Police say the body was a white male in his 30s, approximately 5'10" and 180 pounds with short brown hair, clean shaven.

The person was recovered wearing black and blue striped swim trunks, a scuba mask and holding a flashlight, according to police.

The unidentified body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy.

The drawbridge was locked in the open position over the weekend for maintenance and to allow boats to pass.
