Pedestrian dies after suffering injuries in Md. crash

NORTH BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 24-year-old Bethesda man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car on Rockville Pike and Executive Boulevard in North Bethesda, according to police. On Monday, August 10, police announced that he had died as a result of those injuries.

Police tell us that at approximately 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 6 an on-duty officer witnessed the collision. A police investigation revealed that 24-year-old Matthew Aaron Papirmeister of Bethesda was crossing the southbound lanes of Rockville Pike when he was struck by a Toyota Venza that was traveling southbound on Rockville Pike.

Police say the driver of the Toyota remained on the scene.

Papirmeister died at Suburban Hospital over the weekend.
