POSITION: Census takers or Enumerators for the 2014 Census Test
Pay is around $15 per hour.

Purpose of the Census Test: The U.S. Census Bureau prepares for the 2020 Census by conducting research on best practices for conducting surveys (i.e. internet, telephone, paper questionnaires).
The 2014 Census Test will allow the Census Bureau, on a small scale, to test a variety of new methods and advance technologies that are under consideration for the 2020 Census.
The 2014 Census Test began on June 23, and will continue through September 25. Census Day was on July 1, 2014. The test is underway in portions of Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, Md.

Census takers usually work in their own neighborhoods or communities and must work varied hours, not exceeding 40 hours per week. Since most census taker positions require personally interviewing respondents, enumerators must be able to work when people are typically at home, which includes evening and weekend hours.
In most cases, a valid driver's license and use of a vehicle are required to work as a census taker.
