Teen hurt in mountain board accident in Ashburn

ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's Office officials say a 16-year-old was seriously injured after he fell from a mountain board being pulled by a vehicle.

According to officials, a 16-year-old boy was driving a vehicle with a rope tied to the back of it. The mountain board was attached to the rope and another 16 -year-old was riding it in the parking lot of Broad Run High School.

The teen on the mountain board, who was not wearing a helmet, fell, say officials. He was initially taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital but was later to flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment.

The teen driver was charged with reckless driving, according to officials.
