Armed suspects at large after striking DC police cruiser

DC Police are looking for two men who crashed into a cruiser. They flipped the car, but got out and took off running.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Two suspects are at large after driving into a D.C. police cruiser early Tuesday morning, police reported.

A resident made the original report to police around 5:15 a.m. after he found at least two men sleeping in a car. At least one suspect had a gun on his lap. The suspects' car was parked in the resident's parking spot located in the 1100 block of Barnaby Terrance in Southeast. The individual backed away and contacted police after spotting the gun.

Police said the suspects fled the scene and hit a MPD cruiser in the process. They then bailed out of a black Kia Optima (2008 with NJ Tags) in the 4200 block of Wheeler Rd. They fled the scene on foot and are still at large.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Police also stated that they may have been involved in a crash at Wheeler and Wahler Place around 5:28 a.m. The vehicle ran a light and hit a building.
