ARLINGTON COUNTY, VA (WUSA9) - An Arlington County police officer was hit by the suspect they pulled over, the department reported Wednesday evening.
Officers stopped the driver on the ramp from Glebe Road to I-395 Southbound. While one officer was standing outside the vehicle, the suspect hit the officer with his car.
At least one of the officers shot the suspect. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
One officer has serious injuries. The other officer was treated on the scene by medics.
At this time, it’s not clear how many shots were fired and if one or both officers fired at the suspect.
Police continue to investigate what happened.
