ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fire Marshals and the Arlington County Police Department have continued to investigate the cause of a fire that claimed two lives Saturday on South Langley Street in Arlington, Va.
Authorities said the medical examiner has not yet confirmed the victims' identities.
A total of 80 firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire that happened Saturday afternoon around 3:39 p.m. One firefighter was injured during the rescue process and was treated for smoke inhalation. He was released the following day, authorities said. He is expected to return to work on modified duty this week, police said.
As of right now damage to the house has been estimated at $550,000. The Red Cross helped the seven persons displaced by the fire.
