Arlington absentee voters get extra time on Thursday

ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- Absentee voting is underway in Arlington County ahead of its April 8th Special Election to fill a vacant seat on the county board.

Officials say on Thursday only absentee voting will last until 7 p.m. instead of the usual 5 p.m. cut-off. Weekday voting starts at 8 a.m.

Arlington voters who will be away from Arlington or will be unable to go to the polls next Tuesday can vote absentee at Court House Plaza at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard in suite 320.

Saturday, April 5, is the only weekend day for absentee voting. It will also take place at Court House Plaza from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
