ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- When Eddie Harrison, 95, and Edith Hill, 96 got married in June, after ten years of friendship, it seemed like it was happily ever after for the young-at-heart couple.
But Edith Hill's two daughters share custody of their mother, and now one of her daughters, Patricia, is suing for sole custody of her mom.
If Patricia is awarded sole custody, Hill may need to move to Florida, which would separate her from Harrison.
In court on Thursday the judge heard arguments regarding the validity of the marriage. Questions were raised about whether Edith Hill had the mental capacity to commit to the marriage.
The hearing lasted for five hours, mainly because Rebecca Wright, the daughter currently caring for Hill in Virginia, chose to represent herself.
A ruling has not yet been made in the case.
