Brush fire destroys sheds, causes $75K of damage

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- A brush fire in Alexandria spread and destroyed sheds on Monday evening, say Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials.

Firefighters arrived at the scene in the vicinity of Mary Baldwin Drive and Kenyon Drive at approximately 5:30 p.m. Monday. According to officials, the brush fire spread to several backyard storage sheds and flames more than 10 feet in height engulfed three storage sheds, trees, and bushes.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control but not before it spread to four backyards.

The damage is estimated at $75,000, say officials.

No one was displaced and no one was hurt, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
