1. Yellow Alert for AM showers, much cooler

Thursday will be much cooler with highs in the low 80s. We have declared a Yellow Alert for showers in the morning. Drier and more comfortable air will move in during the afternoon. We will clear out Thursday night with lows falling into the 60s. FORECAST

2. 39 years later, murder of Md. teen still unsolved

It was 39 years ago Thursday when a 15-year-old Montgomery County girl was beaten unconscious and then died nearly two weeks later. Kathy Beatty's family does not want this case to turn 40. Detectives are breathing new life into the effort to solve the murder. MORE

3. Air Algerie flight disappears from radar

An Air Algerie flight from Burkina Faso to Algiers disappeared from radar early Thursday, the official Algerian news agency said. Swiftair, the owner of missing plane operated by Air Algerie says 110 passengers and 6 crew members were aboard. MORE

4. DC activists to seek local aid from Md. congressman

D.C. activists plan to ask a congressman who wants to block the city from liberalizing its marijuana laws to handle a host of other local concerns. Activists plan to visit Andy Harris' office and seek his help fixing potholes and solving other local problems. MORE

5. FAA lifts ban on flights to and from Israel

The FAA announced it was lifting the ban on flights to and from Israel late Wednesday after a careful review of the security situation and because of measures taken by the Israeli government to protect flights at the airport, the agency said in a statement. MORE
