It will be dry and seasonably warm Monday with mainly clear skies with a few clouds through mid day. Tuesday, heat and humidity start to return, and an approaching cold front will trigger some showers and storms later in the day. The best chance for unsettled weather arrives on Wednesday. FORECAST

Metro Silver Line opening date to be announced

Monday, we could know the start date for Metro's Silver Line service in northern Virginia. Metro says if all goes as planned, they expect to announce an opening date for the $2.9 billion phase one of the Silver Line. Phase one includes service from Reston through Tyson's Corner with five new stations. MORE

Md. officer shoots knife-wielding man

A Prince George's County police officer is on leave Monday morning after shooting a suspect overnight. Police say a man carrying a large knife approached officers on Annapolis Road in Bladensburg. When that man did not follow orders to drop the knife, an officer shot him in the hip. MORE
