4. Police investigate murder-suicide in Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Police detectives are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in a Gaithersburg parking garage. Police say it appears a 39-year-old woman shot a 38-year-old man before turning the gun on herself. Investigators believe the two were married and may have been separated. MORE

3. U.S. faces Ghana in World Cup

The United States finally gets its 2014 World Cup campaign underway when it faces Ghana in its opening Group G match in Natal, Brazil, at 6 p.m. ET. The U.S. has been preparing for this match for the past month. Head coach Jurgen Klinsmann

2. Missing kayaker found home safe, unaware of search

Montgomery County Rescue and Park Police said Sunday morning they have found a missing kayaker well and safe. After speaking to the kayaker, police determined that he had experienced trouble in the water and had to swim to shore, leaving the boat in the water. He did not realize that his boat had been recovered and that he was the subject of a search. MORE

1. 'Deep Throat' garage to be torn down in Arlington

The Arlington County Board has voted to demolish a building and parking garage that houses one of the most historic journalism sites of the past 50 years.
