At least five family members were home at the time of the 10 p.m. attack, including a disabled grandfather the family is caring for.

The two attackers dressed in dark clothing had forced their way into the home in the 2900 block of Muncaster Mill Rd. when they were confronted by the brothers.

Police say the attack was not random and that the family was intentionally targeted, though investigators have not publicly theorized why.
