2 vehicles hit 2 buildings in Loudoun County

ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA9) -- Two vehicles hit two separate buildings in Loudoun County on Monday, according to sheriff's office authorities.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. a man trying to pull into a parking space in the 45400 block of Dulles Crossing Plz in Sterling inadvertently hit the gas pedal and drove into the glass window of a store in the Dulles Crossing Plaza, according to authorities. People inside the store were not hurt. Authorities say there was also no structural damage to the store.

The driver was charged with reckless driving, say officials, but they did not release the man's name.

Earlier in the day, a garbage truck struck a garage of a home in Ashburn. Authorities say the Mack Garbage truck was stopped in a cul-de-sac in the 22000 block of Hyde Park Drive in Ashburn at 10:44 a.m. The driver got out of the vehicle but failed to apply the parking brake or place the vehicle in park. The truck then moved forward and struck the garage portion of a home, say authorities.

The driver in this case was also charged with reckless driving.

No one was inside the home at the time of the crash and no one was injured, according to authorities.
