MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police have arrested and charged two men for hit and run, and a malicious wounding incident at a Virginia restaurant.
It happened on April 5 around 10:20 p.m. at the Don Julio Restaurant located at 9007 Centreville Road. Police found two victims outside the business after reports of shots being fired.A 40-year-old male victim was located on the ground in the parking lot, unconscious and bleeding profusely from the head. Another victim, a 36-year-old male, was found conscious and bleeding from the face, police said.
The second victim was able tell Police of what he witnessed. He said he was working security for the restaurant when he attempted to escort the two male suspects, Nahum Nehemais Espina Velasquez, 29 and Onan Esau Espina Velasquez, 32. They both appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the incident. The victim said they both became disorderly and aggressive, attacking him. They grabbed a portable metal detector from the victim's duty belt to use it against him and also attempted to disarm him of his firearm. When the firearm was knocked to the ground, the victim was able to get it back and distance himself from the suspects, shooting three rounds towards the ground, police said.
Both the suspects fled in a red 2003 GMC Envoy. As they sped away, they struck both victims before either could move out of the way, police said. Both the suspects were located at 9490 Blackhawk Drive in Manassas Park. They are both charged with 'two counts of hit and run, one count of robbery, and one count of malicious wounding, police said.'
Both of them are being held without bond and have a pending court date of May 6.
