18-year-old charged in shooting death of 16-year-old

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police have charged an 18-year-old male who they say fatally shot a 16-year-old boy at a home in Fairfax County Monday night.

Leon Malik Johnson has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of Kevin Johnson. The two are not related.

Police say Leon Johnson shot Kevin Johnson and a 14-year-old male at a home in the 4300 block of Pennbrook Village Drive around 7:55 p.m. Monday.

Kevin Johnson was taken to Fairfax Inova Hospital after the shooting where he was pronounced dead.

The 14-year-old was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say he is in stable condition.

Police say a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Police say the three people involved in the shooting knew each other.
