14-year-old girl arrested in bomb threat made to NE, DC school

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A 14-year-old girl was arrested for calling a D.C. school and making threats to blow it up on Wednesday, Metropolitan police said. 

The bomb threat was made to a Public Charter School located in the 1400 block of Brentwood Parkway in Northeast, D.C. on Wednesday around 9:20 a.m.

Police said the caller contacted the DC Office of Unified Communications and stated that there were people who were going to blow up the school. The suspect then hung up. 

Authorities arrested a 14-year-old girl from SE, DC later Wednesday. She is being charged with false report of a weapon of mass destruction.
