Hundreds protest Paris climate decision outside White House

Demonstrators gathered near the White House on Thursday to protest Paris climate agreement after Trump's announcement.

Hundreds of protesters showed up to the White House Thursday afternoon to voice their concerns about the President's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.

President Donald Trump announced the decision around 3:30pm at the White House. Protesters gathered at the White House less than two hours later.

"Climate change is a threat to our country," yelled DNC Chairman Tom Perez.

Local resident Charlie Belt attended the protest. He told WUSA9 he was not surprised by Trump's decision. However, he added he was still disappointed.

"He's failing an entire generation of people just because he's not going to be around for the consequences," Belt said.
