Help Them Play: Help staff homeless shelter playground

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Throughout October in conjunction with our Bring Them Home campaign, WUSA9 will partner with a wonderful organization called The Homeless Children's Playtime Project to finally help to get a playground open at the DC General Homeless shelter.

The Homeless Children's Playtime Project has been advocating for children living at shelters to have safe places to play for years. For the past year, they have been working to get a playground built at the DC General Homeless Shelter. Relisha Rudd and her family had been living at the DC General Homeless Shelter and her disappearance served as a poignant reminder that children living there need safe, supervised places and times to play.

The playground is slated to open sometime this month but donations are desperately needed to KEEP it staffed and open.
