
ATLANTA, GA (AP) --Health officials say sexually spread diseases continue to rise.
Last year there were 1.2 milion new cases of chlamydia, a sometimes symptomless infection which can lead to infertility in women.
It was the most ever reported, up from 1.1 million cases in 2007.
Health officials say better screening is the most likely reason
Adolescant girls ages 15 through 19 accounted for the largest reported number of chlamydia and gonorrhea cases.
