Counterfeit H1N1 Flu Fighters; FDA Issues Warnings

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) --- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) releases a statement cautioning consumers on purchasing any products online that claim to prevent or treat the H1N1 flu virus.

According to Christopher Kelly, Press Officer, the FDA has issued warning letters to some of the websites claiming the products can prevent, treat H1N1.

The FDA says it purchased some of the counterfeit medicine online and conducted a chemical analysis of the products. The medicine did not include the proper dosage or any trace of the approved H1N1 vaccine.

Respirators, masks and sprays are other products included on FDA's warning list.
