WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- First Lady Michelle Obama is known to be a major proponent of fitness. One of her must have assets are her arms.
How does she get them?
Washington Sports Club says the requests are coming in about the best way to develop shoulders, biceps and triceps that look like the First Lady's.
Gym goer Susan Koen says, "She looks strong, she's got muscle and we're all into strong women."
The First Lady continues to inspire many women with her bold and signature style. Just this week, she visited a health care facility in Virginia wearing a robin's egg blue dress and baring those finely toned arms (SEE VIDEO).
Ayanna Smith is also a fan of the First Lady's arms. "You don't see any flabbiness, it's just strength!"
Fitness Instructor Ewunike Akpan with the Bethesda Washington Sports Club says," The reason they're so attractive is because they're toned, they're defined and she looks strong, however very feminine."
Fortunately, Akpan says it's not that difficult to create definition in the upper body. It can be done by doing strength training exercises that use resistance.
Akpan explains, "The resistance that you use with your own body weight, things like pushups, that's a wonderful exercise, dumb bells, medicine balls, body bars to shoulder presses. You're using those pieces of equipment to isolate your shoulders and exercises to isolate the back of the arms to do the triceps."
For that flab-prone part of the arm that seems to frustrate so many women, gym goer Jill Blumberg says this is one instance where by doing less you will get more.
Blumberg explains, "You can use lighter weights and do more repetitions. It's good to work up to using stronger weights but not very heavy weights."
Gym goer Tracie Zaepfel says there are a few exercises anyone can do at home to get that sculpted arm.
Zaepfel explains, "You can sit on a chair and do triceps pushes, you can do push ups, you can take a small jar and lift it up this way."
So regardless of what element works best to help you on your way to a more toned arm, the must do arm exercise is doing regular sets of reps a few times a week and this should give you the confidence to wearing any sleeveless top or evening gown.
For Koehn, each time she sees the First Lady's arms it's a symbol of just what many women today are striving for.
"I think now we have a different sense of what is feminine and that having some muscle and being strong is a great asset..strong inside and outside."
