BETHESDA, Maryland (WUSA)-- For Vicki Harris she's looking for any and all help with her job search.

"I was working and then we had a forced reduction in my job and so at this particular point, I am looking!"

Fitness trainer Libby Linden Rubin say believe it or not, exercise can be the missing link.

"All you need to do is just get up from your chair, your couch, feel good about yourself, feel good about writing your resume,"explains Libby.

Washington Sports Club has hooked up with an organization called Career Fitness with hopes to help people find a way to create a better mind body connection.

Career Coach Malcolm Monroe says,"..optimism is the key to finding a job!"

Munroe says the program Boost Your Career Boost Your Metabolism allows gym goers a chance to have their resumes reviewed, participate in job interview critiques and also workout with a trainer.

"Whether it's trying to figure out what it is you want to do, to how do I target the companies I want to look at, to how do I get my message to them, to writing the proper resume to what to know once I get in there and how do I do phone interviews to how do I negotiate my salary," explains Monroe.

Even research from the Mayo Clinic suggests a more fit person also tends to be more creative and better equipped to deal with the stress of uncertain times. Libby suggests basic body strengthening techniques that also get the blood pumping.

"Get up in the morning, before you shower, do a big inhale up and exhale down. Do shoulder rolls, I say do a minute of push-ups. Turn around and do your crunches and do a minute and then get in your shower," says Libby.

The next Boost Your Metabolism, Boost Your Career Class will take place at the Bethesda, Maryland Washington Sports Club.
