WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Flu season is officially underway.
This means it's time for everyone between the ages of 6 months and older to get a flu vaccination. Researchers predict the H3N2 strain will be the most dominant in the U.S. In our area there are many free clinics and events offering low cost or free flu shots. A number of pharmacies also have programs offering discounts.
Ever wonder what some dads are doing while mom is taking care of the kids and housework? You may not like the answer.
A recent study found that three months after the birth of their first child, on days when couples were not working ---women spent 46 to 49 minutes relaxing while men did child care or housework on their day off.
But men spent about twice that amount of time relaxing, about 101 minutes, while women did some kind of work.
To make sure the workload is more equitable, couples need to have a conversation about duties and responsibilities before baby is born.
Next Tuesday, October 17th. E! Entertainment host and breast cancer survivor, Giuliana Rancic, will be the special guest at the Blush Lunch 2017 at the French Embassy. The luncheon supports the GW Mammovan.
The Mammovan brings lifesaving breast cancer screening to approximately 2,500 women each year in the DMV.
Early Detection and access to care are the twin keys to surviving cancer.
