Give Hope toy drive brings joy to families staying at Children's National

We're teaming up with Children's National to give gifts to kids who will spend the holiday hospital.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Thanks to WUSA9's wonderful viewers, we brought smiles to hundreds of children and their families staying in an area hospital over the holidays.

The Give Hope toy drive received more than a thousand toy donations that were given to Children's National Wednesday during a holiday party thrown by WUSA9.

WUSA9 partnered with Children’s National to help provide toys and hope to sick children from communities across DC, Maryland and Virginia.

Dr. Bear and carolers from Adventure Theater MTC were also on hand to help bring a little bit of holiday spirit to the lobby of the hospital.

Anchor Lesli Foster met some of the families staying at Children's and handed out gifts to little ones in the emergency room and staying at the facility.

You can still donate to the toy drive, which ends Dec. 22 at 10 p.m.
