WASHINGTON (WUSA)-- The federal prosecutors looking into Mayor Vincent Gray's successful campaign have gotten three felony pleas for key staffers in the Gray for Mayor Organization.

There has been no word from prosecutors in months, leading some, but not all, to believe Mayor Gray may be in the clear to at least start thinking about a re-election team and it looks like he could have a lot to run on.

There is $1.5 billion in the city's rainy day fund, a record low homicide rate, a jobless rate that's not much higher than the national average and a plan to spend $100 million on affordable housing.

Mayor Gray said on Monday that if he decides to run he has a record of completing, what he said he would do during the campaign.

On the federal probe, Gray says he has left that up to his attorney.

A call WUSA9 placed to the U.S. Attorney's office to ask where their probe now stands was not returned by early Monday evening.
