WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A seven vehicle accident closed both directions of New York Avenue and Bladensburg Road early Tuesday morning.

The pile up happened right in front of the Washington Times building.
Police say at least 18 people were injured in the crash and several had to transferred to local hospitals.

There has been no word on what caused the crash.
