WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The deaths of two men who found unresponsive in a Northwest Washington home in August have been ruled a homicide and a suicide, say D.C. police.
According to police, the death of 35-year-old Mesfin Nega of Northwest DC was ruled a homicide by a medical examiner. Nega died the same day, August 14, he and 38-year-old Shimelis Yegaza of Aurora, Colorado were found dead unresponsive in the 3600 block of 13th Street NW. Yegaza's death was ruled a suicide.
Police also say a medical examiner ruled that both men died from "acute phenobarbital intoxication." Phenobarbital is a barbituate. Police did not elaborate on the role phonobarbital played in the deaths.
