UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA) -- A plastic bag tax is on its way to Prince George's County. The county council endorsed a 5-cent tax on plastic bags. They say it will cut down on trash and will also bring in some money.
Now the county must get special approval from state lawmakers to enact the tax.

A similar bag tax just took effect in Montgomery County. It's been in place in the District for years.
