Just to be clear, the video above is a satire. It is a message that really has nothing to do with the fire department and similar ideas related to the health care issue were published earlier this month.
This is not a political stand from STATter911.com and is presented here only for its humor. To be fair, the Heritage Foundation has an opposing view and even makes the case for private fire departments. Click here.

sadly, truly, this is the way America is going.
Privatize....salaries go down, welfare goes up, quality of living goes down for those would be firefighters/Medics.
The government run system has worked for years, the problem is there is lots of "wasted" money now-a-days. Money that is spent of executives, governors, etc... private agendas.

Who doesn't remember hearing in the early years of this country when the fire stations competed to get to a fire ahead of the other fire stations. They would fight with other crews for the right to put out the fire. People paid for fire marks for their house to say Fire Company A is our protectors. I would say that the fire service was privatized back then before the government got involved.
