  Wednesday Morning 5/21
The upper level trof that's parked over the East Coast will continue to be the major player in our weather scenario for the next few days. A series of vorticity maximums will be swinging through the base of the trof over the next 48 hours. My rule of thumb is this: If the vort max passes South of you, then there is a chance for precip. If the vort max stays North, probably not. The first piece of energy will pass South of DC later Today, so I think there is a chance for some instability scattered showers this Afternoon. There's even a slight chance for some thunder. On Thursday, the energy will stay North of us. That means we'll likely stay dry. Both days will be unseasonably cool again. It still looks like the trof will lift out over the weekend with sunshine and warmer temps back in the forecast!
