The Hooker Manifesto
After watching the fall of former New York Governor Elliot Spitzer and the self-destruction of the so-called DC Madame Deborah Jean Palfrey, its getting kinda hard to see prostitution as a "victimless crime."
I know, I know. Some of you think its the prosecution of the crime that creates the victims. Its a plausible argument, but before you make it I challenge you to read this article from one of our viewers who emails McGinty's Mailbag regularly. She is 'Karen from Alexandria,' and in short she says her husband used to visit hookers regularly until she kicked him out. But not before he wreaked all sorts of havoc in their personal lives.
Take a look here. And please, leave a comment or three.

I breezed the article or was that a post? A lengthy read I did not have time or patience enough to read, also I'm not commenting on one side of the story.
I agree with the statement "the more you get away with, the more emboldened you become", the more serious the crimes committed.
I'm against prostitution because it is inherently corrupt and corrupting. I am male yet don't see it as a right of passage or any other rationalisation commonly used to excuse it.
As for the Madame and the other employee associated with the service and their suicides... I find it incredibly difficult to believe these were suicides. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but this was a high profile case. Very suspicious to commit suicide on a 5-6 year sentence.
It's amazing what people do for money.
I’m not sure if you will ever get an opportunity to read this post, but I empathize with you and all those who are going through or have gone through such travesty. I do agree with you when you say that the “problem” needs to be addressed. Albeit it is an age-old problem, I don’t believe it will be solved until those who engage in such behaviors MAKE A CONSCIOUS DECISION TO CHOOSE to respect themselves and others.
We ask the question, ‘why do some men do this?’ The answer lies in ‘SIN’ and ‘LUST.’ The propensity to sin lies in the humanness of mankind; there is no getting away from that nature. And when a man, or woman for that matter, choose to defile the wedding bed, (Genesis 2:24), he/she is led away by his/her own lust (James 1:13-15). The solution lies in mankind returning to the GOD who created us and do what He originally commanded us to do. CONSIDER THE ALTERNATIVE….
Sort of related to "The oldest profession", but also how and why the subject of sex is so pervasive in every culture.

I can't say I'm not distracted by sex, but I am not governed by it either.
