Great Air Show, Lost Bus Driver
We took our kids to the Air Show on Saturday, and YES! it was extremely crowded. Fortunately, we went early leaving our house around 10:30 and thinking we might have a chance at seeing the Golden Knights parachute at 11:30. Not even close. The wait at Branch Avenue was an hour to get on the shuttle bus to Andrews.
We were thankful we did not go to Fed Ex field where it took our friends TWO HOURS to get on a shuttle bus. At least they got on. In the afternoon, Andrews having reached capacity, nobody else was allowed in.
Saturday was such a beautiful day, I think most people figured like we did it was the better day to go. Despite the crowds, the show was so worth it. From the F22A to the Phatom, and the big show-stopper Blue Angels, it is a fantastic show.
As we watched the Blue Angels speed through the blue sky, before and above us with breathtaking precision, slicing the air so close to each other, my friend said, 'It doesn't even look real!" If you haven't been, put it on your list of must-sees for the future. And be sure to take your children, however, it may be too much for six and under.

Speaking of children, the kids on our outbound shuttle bus are to be commended. There was little complaining even though we had been waiting an hour-and-a-half to board the bus, then sat on the wayward bus for another 45 MINUTES BECAUSE THE BUS DRIVER GOT LOST!
No kidding, he didn't know how to get to the Branch Avenue Metro Station and we passengers started feeling as though we were in 'Speed 3' . Alas, we gave the driving a resounding applause when he finally got us to our cars.
Tired, but pleased with the day's sights, we made it home at 9 p.m.
