I'm composting
I have taken yet another step in "saving the planet". I am now composting my household waste (that I can) , and I have to thank my son, Philip.
He was in the school's Environmental Club and one of the things that came out of that was the composting idea. So, Helaine bought a rubberized thing with big holes and I know have a circular thingy that rests on the ground that I will toss my degradable waste into.
(Actually, I have been informed by my wife that she did not buy it. The moderator of the Environmental Club gave it to us.) Some day it might be as full as the one in the picture, but this is the same model of composting bin that we set up.
I have a lot to learn about this as there is supposed to be a mix of carbon and nitrogen containing waste. The right mix and a little water and an occasional turn of the pile and I should be getting some great compost that I can spread in my garden or on the thin spots of the lawn.
So far, banana peels, strawberry stems and some uneaten vegetables off of my son's plate have been tossed into the bin. I'll also add some leaves and even some shredded newspaper to get the whole mix going.
If you're composting and can offer any tips, please feel free to post a comment.

Do you have any tips on how to get rid of the moles ?
America
I like the way that Bill Murray did it in Caddyshack....
Seriously though, I was once told to get hair from the barber shop/beauty shop and stick it in the hole. When the mole goes by, some of the hair will stick and then the mole will smell differently to its mate. At that point the mate will keep her distance and the moles will move out. Not sure if that will work, but it's worth a try.
There are all sorts of products available that contain stuff like fox urine and other scents that repel the mole. Mole-Otov Cocktail is one product that claims success and also claims to be all natural.
