The Curse

I’m relieved to hear that no one was hurt during the fire at the National Harbor today.
How many more warnings do we need? When are folks going to “Awaken” and return our statue?
The curse continues…

I laughed when Lori first wrote McGinty's Mailbag about the possibility of there being a curse at the National Harbor. You see those folks had the nerve to buy and move "The Awakening," that great statue that graced Haines Point for so long, and Lori pointed to the outbreak of Norovirus at the sprawling hotel convention center as a sure sign that the fates were not amused.
I really like that statue too, but I was skeptical. I mean, c'mon. A curse?? So I read her email on the air as sort of a joke. Then they had the mouse problem. And she wrote me again. Then today we saw a fire break out. and when I got off the air today the email you see at the top of this blog was waiting for me, as I knew it would be.
Lori, I'm starting to believe.
Hey!! Bring back our statue, or else!!Okay, so Lori--or else what? Never mind. I don't wanna know.

I'm not one for superstition either, although I do think in abstract spiritual terms sometimes.
Is Lori the author of this curse?
Sorry but I had to wiki this...

Wait a sec!
As reported (just heard this on wusa9) the site where the Hotel Convention center sits was a "Native American Burial Ground".
Now I think that that would have a stronger implication that the statues when it comes to curses.
But then I'm no x-spert on the subject...
