A Link Buddies Can't Live Without

On 9News Now @ 5AM, the LINK YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT segment dealt with a serious subject--cancer.

I'm Too Young For This-dot-org is a support site for cancer survivors and care providers under the age of 40.
The foundation that runs the site is an advocacy, support and research organization.
Their mission is to provide one-stop access to resources for people under 40...
...to educate providers on behalf of young adults....
...to gain a better understanding of the needs of survivors...
...and to connect survivors through music and the arts so they can talk about their own experiences.

And watch 9 News Now and Buddy Check 9 for my survivor profiles of your relatives, neighbors & friends.
In the coming weeks you'll meet Jennifer Harlow. The young mother of 3 says cancer knocked on her door, but she quickly showed it where to go.
DC Lottery Director Jeanette Michael believes the odds are in her favor, but she says the second time around battling cancer is much harder.
Breast cancer knows no bounds, not even gender. Eric Hansen, an under 50-year old husband and father, shares his personal battle fighting breast cancer and his efforts at raising awareness about a disease that is not just for women only.
She is not a survivor but Denice Whalen-White, founder of All Shades Of Pink, believes small acts of kindness can make a difference. She makes blankets for cancer patients that warm the wearer both body & soul.
Plus, art students at Woodbridge High School in Fairfax County are painting a Tree of Hope to raise money for the Komen For The Cure Foundation.
Just a few of the stories you'll see on 9 News Now @ 5am as we count down to the June 7th Komen Race For The Cure.

Stay tuned!!!!!
