Friday Morning 2/7
A weak vorticity maximum will pass to our South Today...there could be some sprinkles or flurries This Morning. The weekend looks interesting forecast-wise....the arctic wolf will be howling by Sunday! A clipper storm will move into the Great Lakes during the day on Saturday...it will send a series of cold fronts through here over the weekend. The first one will go through by Saturday Evening. We could see some rain or snow showers...most of the thickness parameters point to sleet or snow, but the boundary layer will be fairly warm. However, I think the MOS numbers for Saturday are too high...we'll have a SE wind and there should be plenty of cloud cover...so, I think it will stay in the 40s. The arctic cold front goes by on Sunday Morning, and that will release the hounds! There could be some snow showers right along the front. The winds will shift to the North during the day and start gusting over 20 MPH...the 850 MB temps drop to between -15 and -20 degrees Celsius on most of the models by Sunday Afternoon. That means the surface temps should be falling for most of the day. The wind chill could be near zero by the Evening hours!
