  Recycling is not a Beach
We usually take a trip to the beach every year. It is great family time. Every year after about one half day we remark how much trash we are generating because there is no county wide or town wide recycling program for pick up at individual houses. I guess because of all the rentals in Rehoboth and Bethany officials feel a recycling plan would not work. I think it would be successful because everyone vacationing at the beach is used to recycling from home. A recycling program from Memorial Day to Labor Day would make a huge impact. Yes, we usually have two families at the beach and yes, eating becomes an Olympic sport but I would venture to guess that we would cut our trash removal in half if we recycled. It's funny how guilty you feel guilty about throwing bottles, plastic containers and newspaper in the trash. It's good to be back home.

Hi Topper, Same thing at Deep Creek Lake -- we stay in large rental homes -- last week there were 32 of us and you can imagine the bottles, cans and paper we generated. And it all went into the trash. So sad. It is good to be back home -- to recycle again!
