Poplar Point
It turns out according to my sources that Councilman Kwame Brown didn't know that his name was on the press release announcing that he and Ward Eight Councilman Marion Barry would be holding a joint press conference to announce their disgust with Mayor Fenty's pulling the Poplar Point development deal from Victor MacFarlane and DC United. Brown saw the press release and his name not long before the Press Conference and decided not to attend. Barry went forward Wednesday afternoon accompanied by some well known activists who support the MacFarlane plan. The former four term Mayor charged Fenty with backing out of the deal after having given Barry the go ahead to make it happen. I've put in a request for the Mayor to respond.

Well thats unfortunate, and I hope it doesn't stand in the way of Mr. Brown giving his support for the project.... It would be nice to hear from Fenty on all of these matters, he's been MIA on the topic for some time now, and it's about time he started to give some answers on what is really going on with the project. Going on this long without adressing the subject to the media shows in my opinion a great amount of disrespect on the mayors part. People care about this issue and they deserve to know whats going on.
