Fire chief says there is urgent need to strengthen building code.

Edmonton's Fire Chief Randy Wolsey toured scene of weekend firestorm
and said, "hopefully we've got their attention". Chief Wolsey has lobbied government officials for years to get building code changes. Among other things, officials point to vinyl siding as contributing to the massive fire's spread.

In another article
Wolsey said, “There needs to be a whole change in philosophy for building codes." Firegeezer hopes that Chief Wolsey is successful in rallying some support.
