Child found wandering neighborhood, woman charged

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- A woman was charged with felony child neglect after a two-year-old boy was found wandering a Woodbridge neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.

Someone called police to report that a small child was unsupervised in the 2500 block of Miranda Ct. at approximately 2:15 p.m. The caller told police he or she had attempted to locate the child's guardian but were unsuccessful.

Officers also attempted to locate the child's home. At some point, the child's parent, came forward from a nearby home, say police.

Police learned that the child was last seen at 11:00 a.m. The child was not injured and was released to a family member, say police.

Police arrested 39-year-old Golou Sylvie Kone of Woodbridge and charged her with felony child neglect.
