WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Thunderstorms and heavy rain last night hit areas that were dumped on Monday night and that has prompted the NWS to issue a Flood Warning for Prince William County and the city of Manassas until 10AM today.
An onshore flow from the Atlantic and a stalled upper level low pressure system will continue to generate showers and T-storms in the Metro Area through the week. Some of the storms will be capable of heavy downpours.
Hotter and somewhat drier weather will move in for the upcoming holiday weekend. In fact, highs will be more reminiscent of July but more showers and T-storms are still possible in the afternoon hours.
This is the 32nd year anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. Check out this link from NASA of the forest regrowth.
