WASHINGTON (WUSA) --  Heavy rains last night have prompted the NWS to issue an Areal Flood Warning for parts of Fauquier and Prince Williams counties in the city of Manassas until 2:15 PM.

Onshore flow from the Atlantic and a stalled upper level low pressure system will continue to generate showers and T-storms in the Metro Area through the week.  Some of the storms will be capable of heavy downpours.

Warmer and somewhat Drier weather will move in for the upcoming holiday weekend. In fact highs will be more reminiscent of July but more showers and T-storms are still possible.

This is the 32nd year anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. Check out this link from NASA of the forest regrowth.
